The Centraal Museum in Utrecht invited Eelco van der Lingen (director Nest, Den Haag) to curate the exhibition Nice ‘n Light. In this thematic exhibition, the visitor is immersed in what light does and means to the human being. Nice ’n light brings together fashion designs, industrial design, visual arts and music videos from different eras and contexts.

Public participation and interaction play a major role in the exhibition. There is a studio where visitors can experiment with the visual power of light, and several of the art works explicitly seek to interact with the viewer.

Visual artists Gabriel Lester, Navid Nuur and Roland Schimmel have created new work for the exhibition, which will be acquired by the Centraal Museum.

The Mondriaan Fund has contributed via a Project Grant for Museums and other Heritage Institutes (in Dutch: Projectinvestering Erfgoed- en Beeldende Kunstinstellingen).
